Our success is driven by talented people who share our commitment to excellence, authenticity, and warm Irish hospitality.

Job Description

Be the Person Behind Exceptional Events

At Cashel Palace Hotel, every wedding, celebration, conference, and special event begins long before the first guest arrives. We are seeking a reliable, organised, and detail-oriented Banqueting Operations Assistant to help ensure our events are prepared to the highest possible standard.

This is not primarily a food service role. Instead, this position focuses on the operational preparation and presentation of our banqueting facilities, ensuring that function rooms, equipment, and service areas are fully ready for successful event delivery.

If you take pride in creating order, maintaining standards, and ensuring every detail is in place, we would love to hear from you.

Please Note

  • Midweek availability is essential.
  • 24-32 hours per week.
  • This role is not suitable for candidates seeking weekend-only, casual, or seasonal work.

The Role

Working closely with our Banqueting and Food & Beverage teams, you will play a vital role in the preparation of weddings, conferences, private dining events, and special occasions.

The majority of your time will be spent ensuring event spaces are fully prepared and maintained, with occasional support provided during events where required.

This is a hands-on role that requires excellent attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently while maintaining the exceptional standards associated with Cashel Palace Hotel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare banquet and function rooms for weddings, conferences, meetings, and private events.
  • Set and dress tables to exacting standards, including linens, glassware, cutlery, crockery, and decorative elements.
  • Polish cutlery, glassware, and service equipment.
  • Ensure all function spaces are clean, organised, and event-ready.
  • Assist with room turnarounds between events.
  • Maintain banqueting stores, equipment, and storage areas.
  • Organise, move, and set up furniture and event equipment.
  • Support stock control and replenishment of operational supplies.
  • Work alongside the Events and Food & Beverage teams to deliver seamless event preparation.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, hygiene, and manual handling procedures.
  • Provide occasional support during event service when operationally required.

About You

You are dependable, proactive, and take pride in a job well done. You understand that exceptional guest experiences are built on thorough preparation and attention to detail.

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience in hospitality, housekeeping, facilities, logistics, events, or operational support.
  • Experience preparing function rooms or event spaces.
  • Knowledge of hospitality presentation standards.
  • Manual handling training.

While previous hospitality experience is advantageous, full training will be provided to the right candidate.

Why Join Cashel Palace Hotel?

  • Work in one of Ireland's most prestigious luxury hospitality destinations.
  • Become part of a professional and supportive team.
  • Competitive hourly rate.
  • Meals provided while on duty.
  • Employee wellbeing and assistance programmes.
