Job Description

SUMMARY

As a Server (Event Staff Member), you will execute banquet set-up, service, and clean-up for assigned functions, including breakfasts, lunches, dinners, hospitality suites, and other special services, while delivering outstanding guest service and maintaining a positive work environment. Our Servers (Event Staff Member), are a critical part of ensuring our guests have a memorable experience and will reflect our high standards for service, hospitality, and teamwork.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute food and beverage service before, during, and after banquet functions
  • Demonstrate proper banquet set-up, service, and clean-up procedures
  • Work effectively under pressure and meet service deadline
  • Ability to load and unload trucks for outdoor events
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, indoors and outdoors, including exposure to varying weather conditions
  • Must be able to unload all supplies from the requisition and properly store them in their designated area
  • Maintain accurate cash controls and handle transactions as required
  • Maintain and organize storage areas, ensuring cleanliness and proper stock levels
  • Adhere to grooming and dress standards as set forth by the Employee Handbook
  • Foster a positive attitude and maintain good rapport with fellow employees
  • Report to work on time, in uniform, and with all necessary tools
  • Complete all assignments as directed by supervisors
  • Maintain high standards of sanitation and safety in all areas
  • Responsible for cleaning and sanitation of assigned work areas
  • Maintain open communication with supervisors and team members
  • Understand and follow environmental practices and policies of the Resort

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Food service experience preferred
  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Valid Michigan driver’s license and insurability under Resort’s policy required
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to provide excellent customer service
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt to last-minute changes and respond professionally to guest requests or concerns
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to follow directions from senior banquet staff

TYPICAL PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS

  • Must be in good health and able to stand for extended periods
  • Capable of heavy lifting and pushing heavy carts
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining focus and professionalism
  • Ability to handle stressful or difficult guest interactions in a courteous manner
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing event needs and last-minute requests, including extending event end times

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Employee parking proximity to resort entrance varies season to season due to business volume
