We're looking for an experienced and organized Banquet Supervisor to join our dynamic hospitality team in Jakarta, Indonesia. In this role, you will oversee all aspects of banquet operations, ensuring exceptional service delivery and seamless event execution. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, outstanding customer service skills, and the ability to manage high-pressure situations with professionalism and efficiency. You will be responsible for coordinating with various departments, managing staff, and maintaining the highest standards of food and beverage service while fostering an inclusive and supportive team environment.

  • Supervise and coordinate all banquet staff during events, ensuring professional conduct and adherence to service standards while maintaining a collaborative atmosphere
  • Plan and organize banquet events from initial consultation through execution, managing timelines, logistics, and innovative service approaches
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations throughout all banquet operations, with particular attention to local Jakarta requirements
  • Manage guest interactions professionally and empathetically, addressing concerns and ensuring customer satisfaction with transparency and decisiveness
  • Coordinate seamlessly with kitchen, housekeeping, and other departments to ensure efficient event delivery and problem resolution
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate banquet staff, providing constructive feedback, performance guidance, and motivational support for professional development
  • Monitor inventory, equipment, and supplies; analyze costs and report maintenance needs while identifying cost-saving opportunities
  • Manage event setup, breakdown, and room transitions efficiently while maintaining analytical oversight of operational details
  • Maintain detailed records of events, guest preferences, and special requirements for future reference and continuous improvement
  • Resolve operational issues and guest complaints promptly and professionally, demonstrating resilience and sound decision-making
  • Ensure accurate billing and reconciliation of banquet charges with attention to detail and analytical precision
  • Uphold company standards and policies while maintaining a supportive, inclusive team environment that encourages innovation and flexibility

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in banquet, catering, or event management
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale events and diverse guest requirements
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and support staff
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage service standards and protocols
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities with exceptional attention to detail
  • Customer service excellence and conflict resolution expertise
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations in food service operations
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure
  • Proficiency with event management software and systems
  • Budget management and cost control experience
  • Vendor and supplier coordination capabilities
  • Familiarity with local Jakarta hospitality standards and regulations
  • Preferred: Experience in luxury hospitality or high-end event venues
  • Preferred: Familiarity with multiple cuisines and diverse service styles
  • Preferred: Experience training and developing hospitality staff
