THE ROLE

The Banquet Serveris responsible forproviding exceptional food and beverage service during banquet events and functions. This role focuses on ensuring a positive guest experience through attentive service, professionalism, andattention to detail Banquet Servers work closely with the Banquet Captain, Banquet Manager, and other event staff to ensure smooth setup, service, and breakdown of events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assistwith collecting all banquet equipment to include flatware, China, glassware, and serving pieces needed for each event. 

  • Prepares garnishes, beverages, condiments, andbread

  • Clean and fill salt and pepper containers, sugar dishes, creamers,etc.

  • Assistwith preparation and set-up of event room when necessary. 

  • Prepare tables with place settings as instructed.

  • Establish andmaintainpositive client relationships. 

  • Breakdown tables and banquet equipment after each event. 

  • Clean and return serving pieces tothe properstorage area. 

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience          

  • High School degree/GED or equivalent isrequired

  • At least oneyearof experience in a Food & Beverage environment.

Skills and Abilities  

  • Strong ability toworkwith other staff members in the facility

  • Ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks.

  • Must adhere to local Food Codes.

  • Position is veryhands-onwith excessive interaction with staff.

  • Must have good oral, customerservice,and interpersonal skills. 

  • You mustpayattention to detail

  • Must be results and self-driven. 

  • Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, managing competing demands, frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.

Location:On Site, Broward County Convention Center

  • Substantial standing, walking, and pushing and or pulling of equipment. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

  • Performing work through repetitive eye/hand coordination.

  • Must be able to work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
