Description

Position Summary:

Ensure proper set-up, preparation, and sanitation of banquet space as directed by the Banquet Captain.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  1. Maintain required sanitation levels of banquet space.
  2. Maintain all big service equipment, i.e., chafing dishes, tables, chairs.
  3. Read, interpret and set up function space according to Banquet Events Orders (BEO).
  4. Read, interpret and procure equipment needed in daily operation as set forth by captains, equipment requisition sheet or BEO.
  5. Assist guest in any requests as needed, finds answers if unknown.
  6. Complete all opening and closing duties as set forth by manager such as, removing equipment from function space, checking cleanliness of function and service space, making sure all function space is properly set, including linen.
  7. Must attend departmental meetings, comply with all corporate and unit level systems and control measures and must adhere to all hotel standards of service and conduct.
  8. Must have knowledge of equipment in department, including AV equipment and set up, be personable to all guests at all times and be hygienically acceptable at all times.
  9. Support and participate in recycling program.
  10. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Banquet Manager/Supervisor.
  11. Support the Topnotch Resort environmental commitments by having the knowledge, skills and values to be a leader in the global goal of “greening” the hospitality industry.
  12. Watch for safety hazards and report them immediately to Department Supervisor.
  13. The Banquet House person is responsible for the proper logistics of all function space. It is the responsibility of the house person to see that all equipment is available and in place for all service personnel upon their arrival. The House person is responsible for the sanitation and maintenance of all areas deemed banquet space and for expeditious movement of food from the kitchen to the service area, as well as, dissembling used equipment.
  14. Pay rate for this position is $20/hr

Qualifications Required

Prefer previous hotel banquet or other related service experience.

  • Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.
