Job Description

The Manager, Banner Development is responsible for improving the performance and expansion of the company’s bannered store network. This role focuses on building strong relationships with store owners and supplier partners, maintaining brand integrity, and optimizing store profitability. The Manager of Banner Development ensures alignment with corporate objectives while supporting local store success and driving strategic growth through customized action plans and regional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Network Expansion
  • Develop and execute a national strategy for store expansion, relocations, and consolidations.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify underserved regions and high-potential growth areas.
  • Collaborate with finance and operations to build business cases for new locations.
Real Estate & Site Development
  • Lead site selection, lease negotiations, and acquisition processes.
  • Manage relationships with landlords, developers, brokers, and municipal authorities.
  • Oversee permitting, zoning, and construction timelines to ensure timely store openings.
Performance Optimization
  • Evaluate existing store performance and recommend network adjustments to improve profitability and customer access.
  • Implement tools and analytics to monitor network health and market coverage.
Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Work closely with retail operations, marketing, supply chain, and IT to ensure seamless integration of new locations.
  • Lead a team of regional development managers and external consultants.
Brand & Customer Experience Alignment
  • Ensure all new and renovated locations reflect brand standards and deliver a consistent customer experience.
  • Incorporate sustainability and innovation into network development plans.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Real Estate, Urban Planning, or related field (MBA or equivalent preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in retail network development, preferably in the automotive aftermarket or similar sectors.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian retail markets and regional dynamics.
  • Proven track record in site selection, lease negotiation, and project management.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Bilingual (English/French) is a strong asset.
  • Willingness to travel nationally.
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience with franchise or corporate-owned retail models.
  • Familiarity with automotive service and parts retail operations.
  • Knowledge of zoning, permitting, and construction processes across Canadian provinces
