Priory Hospital East Midlands has an opportunity for a Bank RMN to join our team. This is a bank contract of 0 hours per week.

Priory Hospital East Midlands, located between Nottingham and Mansfield, is a 28-bedded specialist acute and psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU) service for adult females.

Priory’s acute and PICU services aim to allow more people to be treated closer to home and we support the NHS to repatriate out-of-area patients back to local areas.

What you'll be doing

You will be part of a compassionate team that is committed to supporting people's wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future.

  • Assess, plan and deliver person-centred nursing care as a named nurse.
  • Monitor patients’ mental and physical wellbeing, responding appropriately to changes in their condition.
  • Review and update nursing care plans to reflect patients’ needs and progress.
  • Work closely with patients, families/carers and the wider MDT to support positive outcomes.
  • Prioritise and delegate nursing duties effectively, taking charge of the ward when required.
  • Support the safe management and administration of medication in line with Priory policies.
  • Support and mentor newly qualified nurses through the preceptorship process.
  • Ensure care is delivered in line with safeguarding, Mental Capacity Act, DoLS and NMC requirements.

What you'll bring to the role

Essential for the role

  • Qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with active NMC registration
  • Completed preceptorship programme
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to patient-centred care and safeguarding
  • Understanding of NMC standards and professional practice
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development

The following experience would be beneficial

  • At least 6 months’ post-registration experience
  • Experience working within a Mental Health or Learning Disabilities setting
  • Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience supporting and mentoring newly qualified nurses
