Bowden Lodge is currently looking for a Support Worker to join their Outreach team. This is a bank role.

Bowden Lodge is located in Darnall, in Sheffield. The home provides residential support for 16 males and females with mental health needs.

Our team are dedicated to supporting the people we care for to take control and have belief in their potential. We want to help people who are moving into our home from hospital to gain independence and stability so they can move back into less supported accommodation.

We can also support those who have:
  • A mild learning disability
  • Mild to moderate behaviour that may challenge
  • A forensic background
  • Low-level mobility needs
  • Epilepsy

What you'll be doing

We are looking forOutreach Support Workers to support individuals with mental health needs within the community.
  • To provide the highest standard of person-centred support and care to the people who use our service, maintaining dignity and respect, enabling them to lead as independent lives as possible and realise their potential whilst ensuring own actions and behaviour comply with corporate policy and local procedures, statutory regulations and quality standards.
  • Ensure that the people who use our service have any needs or requirements met; including participation in activities and support with daily living tasks.
  • To support people who use our service in achieving their outcomes in the way that they choose.
  • Where daily duties and tasks have not been completed by the client, continue to encourage them to take responsibility. This includes regular engagement throughout the day and night.
  • Complete daily administration tasks in Nourish including updating person centred support & care plans, updating charts and completing accurate daily notes.
  • Ensure during each shift all interactions in Nourish for your shift have been closed and evidence provided.
  • Maintain professional relationships whilst developing a good rapport with the people who use our service, their family, colleagues, visitors and other stakeholders.
  • To undertake key working responsibility for individual clients, supporting the individual to plan goals and personal outcomes and ensure that these are comprehensively documented and reviewed.
  • The role holder should have a flexible and innovative approach to their work and be able to facilitate and support clients in decision making, promoting choice and involvement at all times.
  • The role holder should present the service in a positive light and should be proactive in making suggestions for how to improve the service.
