Priory Hospital Woodbourne is looking to recruit a Maintenance Assistant to join the team.

Priory Hospital Woodbourne, located in a peaceful and picturesque suburb of South West Birmingham, offers both specialist addiction treatment and inpatient mental health support.

Our dedicated facility, The Manor Ward, provides expert care for a range of needs, including alcohol and drug addiction, behavioural addictions, and a wide range of mental health conditions, within a safe and supportive environment.

Across both services, our teams are committed to delivering exceptional standards of care, placing you at the heart of your treatment journey and helping you achieve the best possible outcomes. All treatment is tailored to your individual needs and structured in line National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines.

What you'll be doing

You’ll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the hospital and to support the wellbeing of our patients. While your role doesn’t involve providing direct care, your contribution is vital in helping to maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for everyone. Whether you're assisting with day-to-day operations, keeping things organised, or ensuring our spaces are well looked after, your support plays an important part in creating a positive experience for those who live and work here.
  • Maintains a well-decorated, safe and comfortable environment throughout the site, in line with quality standards, and follows work processes which comply with statutory regulations.
  • Ensures that Priory minimum standards are delivered in all site areas in a timely and efficient manner, as part of a team.
  • Identifies and reports damage, faults and other related issues to the Maintenance Manager (and then actions as agreed) to ensure that environmental conditions continue to meet quality standards and statutory regulations.
  • Carry out General Maintenance tasks as defined in the Appendix and in the General Property Maintenance Guide.

What you'll bring to the role

The ideal candidate will possess basic numeracy and literacy skills, with a strong attention to detail and the ability to effectively prioritise tasks. They should be capable of working independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a proactive and customer-focused approach. A strong team-working ethic is essential, alongside the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with colleagues and customers alike. Previous experience or an understanding of a building, plumbing, mechanical, or electrical discipline would be highly desirable.
