We’re looking for a Bank Healthcare Assistant to join our team at The Harborne Hospital, a purpose built facility delivering specialist care across cardiac, cancer, orthopaedic and complex surgical services. Opened in 2024, the hospital brings together advanced technology, specialist teams and a collaborative way of working, all designed to improve patient outcomes and experience. As part of HCA Healthcare UK’s flagship hospital in the Midlands, you’ll be working in a setting that prioritises innovation, efficiency and high standards of patient care.
As a Bank Healthcare Assistant, you’ll work closely with experienced nurses and multidisciplinary teams across a range of specialties. You’ll gain exposure to different patient pathways, helping you build confidence and bridge the gap between theory and practice. Each shift offers something new, from supporting with patient care and clinical observations to assisting with procedures and ensuring the ward runs smoothly. With the ability to choose shifts that work for you, you’ll have the flexibility to shape your experience while developing the practical skills that will support your future career.

What you’ll do:
  • Support nursing and medical teams with patient care, including observations and accurate clinical documentation
  • Provide personal care with dignity and respect, ensuring patients feel safe, comfortable and informed
  • Assist with chaperoning and supporting a range of clinical procedures
  • Help maintain a well organised ward, including stock management and equipment readiness
  • Communicate clearly with patients and colleagues, escalating concerns and supporting infection prevention practices
What you’ll bring:
  • Currently studying towards a Nursing degree or hold an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care
  • Care Certificate
  • Experience working in an acute hospital or general ward setting
  • Clear and confident communication skills in English
  • A compassionate and reliable approach with a strong commitment to patient care
