Priory Hospital Solihull has an opportunity for a a Healthcare assistant to join our team. Working as a Bank Healthcare Assistant, you will cover absences at Priory Solihull, such as annual leave cover, sickness cover, or any other business needs. Shifts will range from Monday - Sunday, and will include night shifts and bank holidays.

Priory Hospital Solihull is a specialist, we provide support for adults with complex mental health needs and we consider referrals from all over the UK (although most of our referrals come from local Trusts within the West Midlands). Conveniently located in Solihull,benefits from excellent public transport links, including rail and bus services / a peaceful rural setting with access to nearby towns and transport connections] and easy access to the M6 and M42 motorways, and well-placed for the M40 and M1 motorways and 4 train stations are located within 5 miles of the hospital.

What you'll be doing

You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients
  • Assists qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed to facilitate the wellbeing, dignity and treatment of all patients.
  • Provides practical support and responsive care to patients who require assistance with intimate personal needs such as dressing, bathing and toileting activities ensuring that such activities comply with procedures and the relevant healthcare legislation.
  • Observes and monitors the wellbeing of patients ensuring that any unusual physical, mental or emotional occurrences are promptly referred to senior staff/the primary nurse and documented as appropriate.

  • Educated to a minimum NVQ 1 or GCSE’s in Mathematics and English.
