Locum Biomedical Scientist in Biochemistry

Banding: Band 6

Location: Hampshire

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: Ongoing

Working Pattern: Core hours only, option to work weekends if desired

Rate: £25-27

We are currently seeking a Band 6 Biomedical Scientist specialising in Biochemistry to join our client’s team in Hampshire. This is a full-time, ongoing position working core hours only, offering a competitive hourly rate and the opportunity to contribute to a busy and well-established laboratory service.

Key Responsibilities

You will perform biochemical analyses including routine chemistry, endocrinology, and toxicology using automated platforms. You will ensure accurate results and maintain quality standards.

Qualifications and Experience

- HCPC registration

- Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent

- Experience in Biochemistry within a clinical laboratory - minimum of 2+ years

- Experience with automated chemistry analysers - Roche Cobas 6000/8000

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

- NHS experience (preferred)
