Position Type: Part Time
Salary Range: $18.00 - $18.00 Hourly

Ballfield Maintenance

General Summary:
Under the supervision of the Ball Field Maintenance Tech, this position is responsible for performing proficiently in multiple types of skilled outdoor landscape maintenance as well as some facilities maintenance duties: This may include chalking the fields, edging the fields mowing, string trimming, dirt and mound work, pulling weeds, trash, simple facility repairs and other miscellaneous landscaping.  This position performs all aspects of general maintenance duties; maintains all District facilities and grounds, and works specifically on ball field maintenance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain the appearance and condition of playing surfaces including property grounds. Use of hand or power tools, including ball field equipment.
- Rake, tamp and prep baseball batters’ boxes and lip of infields.
- Weeding in warning tracks and infields.
- Groom indoor arena turf.
- Drags and lines fields, and packs home plate areas and pitching mounds.
- Painting of athletic fields.
- Perform daily maintenance on batting cages.
- Perform other maintenance duties as assigned, (manage all field prep, including, but not limited to, turf management, fertilization, and disease control, edging, mound and plate prep, warning track maintenance, and infield playing surface maintenance and mowing.
- Checking and emptying trash.
Other Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assists other staff member in completion of assigned tasks and projects throughout the District.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Knowledge of athletic fields is favorable.
- Ability to operate maintenance equipment on ball fields (ABI, Sandpro, ATV, Gator).
- Ability to use a variety of hand tools.
- Ability to maintain machinery (oil changes, tire pressure, cleaning, etc.)
- Ability to drive with trailer attached from work sites to unload ball field equipment.
- Ability to work in a variety of adverse weather conditions, including heat, cold, precipitation, and wind.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and be self-motivated to finish daily tasks.
- Ability to work with and get along with others.
- Must be cordial and polite, creating a positive guest experience.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Consistent attendance is a job requirement; evenings and weekends are a must.
- Must be available to work the Sparkler Tournament (June 25-July 8, 2026 ).
- Valid State of Colorado driver’s license with a safe driving record.
- Requires physical strength and endurance due to lifting, bending and carrying of materials
Working Environment/Physical Activities:
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work flexible hours and weekends.
- Must be able to work at indoor and outdoor temperatures, with extreme heat & cold.
- Environmental conditions encountered will include noise, fumes, odors, and dust.
- Must work without direct supervision and with a great deal of autonomy.
- The work requires an employee to follow established safety procedures in operating equipment and vehicles, handling irritant materials, performing repetitive activities, etc. Employees may be required to wear protective clothing as needed.
Education/Experience/License:
- Valid unrestricted Colorado Driver License with a safe driving record.
