Ballet Instructor (Miller and Montlake Community Centers)
If you have a knowledge and understanding of Ballet fundamentals and passion for and experience teaching, Associated Recreation Council (ARC) has a role for you as a Ballet Instructor at Miller and Montlake Community Centers. We are hiring for both centers. Because the centers are located close to one another, employees have greater flexibility and more opportunities for additional hours. This is a seasonal part-time role starting asap. There are multiple opportunities to extend.
ARC, in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation, serves Seattle by offering access to licensed childcare and a variety of recreational and lifelong learning programs, classes, and activities. In this role, the Ballet Instructor at Miller and Montlake Community Centers will lead participants through 30-minute lessons. The class’s objectives are to strengthen bodies and minds and provide a safe and positive environment for children to express themselves.

Schedule:
Tuesdays – 3:15pm – 4pm (Montlake CC)
Fridays – 3:30pm – 6:45pm (Miller CC)
Ballet Instructor duties and responsibilities include:
Develop and deliver developmentally appropriate class lesson plans for cohorts. Instructor is expected to plan dance lessons.
Plan, lead and implement age-appropriate lessons for ballet classes, focusing on strengthening minds and bodies, introductory skills, fine motor development, and dance appreciation.
Instructors are expected to set up and clean up the space before and after each lesson.
Complete required administrative reports, such as attendance sheets and accident reports.
Ballet Instructor requirements include:
Must be 18 years of age.
Experience working with children
Experience in teaching ballet.
Pay:
Starting pay: $26.50/hr
Full Pay Range: $26.50-28.50/hr (Over time, the employee in this role may earn up to $38.50/hr with additional years of service)
