General Information:

Balanced Dukes is the wellness and well-being program for faculty and staff at James Madison University. We are seeking a motivated student to assist with a variety of creative and engaging projects within our program. Balanced Dukes offers resources, challenges, workshops, informational sessions, and other initiatives that support the core dimensions of well-being.
The Balanced Dukes Intern will work closely with the Coordinator of Employee Well-Being to support the mission of enhancing the wellness and well-being of JMU faculty and staff. This position averages 10 to 15 hours per week during the academic year.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Create engaging content for Balanced Dukes social media platforms.
• Assist with workshop and conference registration processes.
• Support room setup and equipment preparation for faculty and staff fitness programs.
• Prepare and organize welcome bags for new employee orientation.
• Provide general administrative and event support as needed.

Qualifications:

• Experience using Canva, Word, and Excel.
• Ability to work 10 to 15 hours per week during the academic semester.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to travel across campus and assist with events as needed.
• Dependable and able to work independently while managing multiple tasks.

Additional Posting Information:

Preferred Qualifications
• Academic background or strong interest in health, wellness, well-being, public health, recreation, communications, or a related field.
• Experience creating content for social media platforms.
• Interest in employee well-being programming and event planning.

Conditions of Employment:

Students must be degree-seeking students, enrolled on at least a half-time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).
