Job
Summary:
The Bakery Team Leaders will oversee the department and the quality of the work performed by their team members.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Assist the bakery supervisors with schedules and assign tasks to team members.
- Be a backup to supervisors when needed.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Directs, administers, and controls the day-to-day operations and activities of the department.
- Motivate team members to perform their best.
- Ensure compliance in food safety, workplace safety, and employment laws.
- Performs quality checks as needed.
- Provides training for all new hires.
- Assist with implementing KPIs and targets for the department.
- Gain feedback from team members on current processes and identify the need for change and improvement within the department.
- Create a supportive team environment.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent at problem-solving and conflict resolution.
- Excellent in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Planning and people management.
Education and
Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-2 years of related experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
- Capability to perform physical activities, including lifting up to 50 lbs. unassisted, bending, climbing, standing, and walking.
- Adequate visual and auditory acuity.
- High-heat environments (ovens).
- Ability to work in cold temperatures (freezers/refrigerators).
- Fast-paced, team-oriented, and safety-conscious atmosphere.
