BAKERY MANAGER

Grocery Retailer | Cayman Islands | $65,000 - $75,000 USD per Annum

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are looking for a seasoned and passionate Bakery Manager to lead the scratch bakery operation of a well-established grocery retailer in the Cayman Islands, with oversight expanding across multiple locations as new stores open. This is a senior leadership role for a highly experienced baker who has spent the better part of their career at the helm of a from-scratch bakery, producing exceptional artisan products with a commitment to quality, consistency, and craft. The right candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong retail management experience, and the leadership ability to oversee and grow a multi-site bakery operation within a grocery retail environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and manage all day-to-day operations of a scratch bakery, ensuring the highest standards of product quality and consistency
• Develop and execute a broad range of from-scratch baked goods, including artisan breads, pastries, viennoiserie, and specialty items
• Oversee recipe development, menu planning, and seasonal product offerings
• Recruit, train, and develop the bakery team, building a culture of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and continuous improvement
• Manage production schedules, inventory, ordering, and supplier relationships to ensure smooth and efficient operations
• Monitor food costs, minimize waste, and maintain bakery budgets in line with business objectives
• Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards throughout the bakery

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 10 to 15 years of experience as the head of a scratch bakery, with a proven track record of leading high-quality bakery operations; Master Baker designation is preferred
• Minimum 5 years of management experience in a retail bakery environment, with the ability to oversee multiple locations
• Deep expertise in from-scratch baking techniques across artisan breads, pastries, laminated doughs, and specialty baked goods
• Strong leadership and team development skills with experience managing and scaling bakery operations across multiple sites
• Solid understanding of bakery cost management, inventory control, and production planning in a retail context
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and HACCP principles
• English fluency is required
