Job Description

Crowne Plaza Resort Petra is seeking a skilled, passionate and detail-oriented Bakery Demi Chef de Partie to join our Culinary team.

The successful candidate will support the daily operations of the Bakery section, ensuring the preparation and presentation of high-quality bakery products in line with IHG brand standards, food safety requirements and established culinary procedures.

This role requires creativity, technical baking skills, teamwork and a commitment to delivering consistently exceptional dining experiences for our guests.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and produce a variety of breads, pastries, doughs and other bakery products according to approved recipes and quality standards.
• Support the Chef de Partie in managing daily bakery operations, production schedules and mise en place.
• Ensure consistency in product quality, taste, presentation and portion control.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and sanitation in accordance with HACCP principles and hotel food safety procedures.
• Monitor stock levels, ingredient usage and food wastage to support effective cost control.
• Ensure proper handling, storage and rotation of bakery ingredients and finished products.
• Maintain bakery equipment and work areas in a clean, safe and organised condition.
• Work closely with other Kitchen sections to ensure smooth operations and timely food production.
• Support the training and development of junior culinary colleagues.
• Comply with IHG brand standards, hotel policies and established health and safety requirements.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Diploma or professional certification in Culinary Arts, Bakery, Pastry or a related field.
• Previous experience in a professional bakery or pastry kitchen, preferably within an upscale or internationally branded hotel or resort.
• Strong knowledge of bread-making techniques, dough preparation, fermentation, baking processes and bakery equipment.
• Good understanding of food safety, hygiene standards and HACCP principles.
• Ability to maintain consistent product quality while working efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Strong teamwork, organisational and time-management skills.
• Creativity, attention to detail and a genuine passion for bakery production.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• Basic communication skills in English; additional languages would be an advantage.
• Previous experience with IHG or another international hotel brand would be an advantage.
