Job Description

Responsible for delivering superior service to both internal team members and external guests across all food outlets at Harrah’s and Caesars Republic. This role supports an engaging, high‑quality culinary operation by actively learning from Chefs, Shift Leaders, and Bakers, while assisting in the production of fresh, high‑quality bakery items that elevate the overall guest dining experience.

  • Provide superior customer service by fostering positive interactions with both internal team members and external guests; demonstrate professionalism, resilience, and the ability to handle difficult customer situations in all business conditions while working harmoniously with coworkers.
  • Receive, store, rotate, and distribute bakery supplies and products in and around production areas, ensuring proper handling and organization.
  • Accurately scale and measure ingredients, including but not limited to flours, sugars, leavening agents, doughs, and batters, within allowable tolerances and as directed.
  • After initial training, prepare a variety of base doughs, batters, fillings, and related derivatives, including batters for buffet-style pastries and similar items.
  • Prepare, fill, and finish basic buffet cakes in accordance with established quality and presentation standards.
  • Cut pies, cakes, and tarts; prepare pastries for service; produce basic breakfast pastries; and fill croissants as required.
  • Participate in the production and plate-up of banquet desserts to support events and special functions.
  • Maintain the bakery and all related equipment in a clean, sanitary, and organized condition in compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Assist Bakers with additional production duties as assigned or as operational needs require.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous bakery experience helpful
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English; communicate clearly, distinctly, and professionally with others.
  • Knowledge of general baking principles.
  • Ability to interpret formulas, calculate quantity conversions, and understand product directions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members at all levels.
  • Ability to correctly prepare all food items for which the position is responsible.
  • Ability to review and comprehend required documentation.
  • Ability to safely and effectively operate bakery equipment, including but not limited to mixers, sheeters, dough machines, and proof boxes.
  • Ability to work independently and without direct supervision.
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions when handling team member conflicts.
  • Demonstrates the highest level of integrity in all situations and understands standards required in a regulated business.
  • Acts as a role model for other Team Members and consistently represents Caesars Entertainment in a positive and professional manner.
  • Adheres to all regulatory, company, and departmental policies and procedures.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per shift.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to grasp, hold, and use repetitive hand motions with good hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to respond to visual and aural cues, including color distinction.
  • Ability to climb a step stool safely.
  • Ability to work inside and maneuver throughout the bakery.
  • Ability to push or pull food carts weighing up to 450 pounds.
  • Ability to lift pans of hot food and bowls or trays of cold food.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, crouch, carry, pull, and stack oven racks, mixes, baking sheets, and other utensils.
  • Ability to frequently tolerate dust.
  • Ability to occasionally tolerate fumes, chemicals, and gases.
  • Ability to tolerate extreme temperatures, including heat exceeding 200°F and cold temperatures as low as 10°F below zero.
  • Ability to frequently tolerate high noise levels.
  • Positions with public contact require the ability to work in a noisy environment and may include exposure to guests who use tobacco products.
  • Non-public contact positions may occasionally require entry into public areas and may be subject to the same environmental conditions.
