Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week, Maximum 40 hours per week

Wage: $33.00 per hour

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Baker to join our supermarket bakery team. This is a full-time position for a skilled and reliable individual who can produce high-quality baked goods while maintaining excellent food safety and production standards.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Prepare, mix, knead, shape, proof, bake, and finish a variety of bread, rolls, pastries, cakes, and other bakery products.
• Follow recipes and production schedules to ensure consistent quality and availability of bakery products.
• Monitor baking times, temperatures, and product quality throughout the production process.
• Decorate and present bakery items to supermarket standards.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health and safety requirements.
• Operate, clean, and maintain bakery equipment and work areas.
• Manage stock rotation and assist with ordering ingredients and supplies.
• Minimise waste and maintain efficient production practices.
• Monitor product freshness and quality and remove unsuitable products from sale.
• Work collaboratively with supermarket management and team members to meet customer demand and production targets.
• Assist with training junior bakery staff when required.
• Provide excellent customer service when interacting with customers.

Skills and Experience Required

Essential Requirements

• At least 2 years of supermarket bakery experience.
• Proven experience producing a wide range of bakery products in a commercial bakery or supermarket environment.
• Sound knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and food safety practices.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Physically fit and capable of standing for extended periods and lifting bakery ingredients and products as required.
