Peace Country Co-op is hiring a Baker in Peace River, Alberta.

What you’ll do:

• Provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service and respond to product inquiries
• Order, receive, inspect, and store raw materials and supplies used in the preparation of baked products
• Prepare, mix, and bake a variety of products including breads, rolls, buns, pastries, cookies, and specialty items according to established recipes
• Operate commercial bakery equipment including mixers, proofers, ovens, and slicers safely and efficiently
• Monitor product quality, freshness, and consistency throughout the baking process.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe work environment, including daily sanitation of bakery areas
• Rotate inventory and remove outdated or unsellable products to minimize waste

Who you are and what you have:

• Red Seal Journeyperson Baker Certification (or equivalent) considered an asset

• Minimum 2–3 years of professional baking experience in a commercial or retail setting

• Strong understanding of baking techniques, ingredient functions, and food safety regulations

• Excellent time management and organizational skills

• Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

• Available to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required

• Comfortable with physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 50 lbs
