Job Description
PRIORITY, a leading Management and IT consulting firm in Greece, is currently seeking a Backup Senior Administrator for the Banking Sector on behalf of a prestigious client. This role focuses on the management and optimization of backup systems and disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability within the banking environment. The position is offered on a fixed-term contract until the end of 2026, with the possibility of renewal for an additional year based on project needs and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and operate enterprise backup solutions aligned with industry best practices (e.g. 3‑2‑1 / 3‑2‑1‑1‑0).
- Administer backup platforms including policies, scheduling, retention, and lifecycle management.
- Implement secure and resilient backup architectures, including immutable and isolated backup copies.
- Perform and support restore operations, recovery testing, and incident response activities.
- Monitor backup operations, resolve failures, and optimize performance and capacity.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, audit requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Participate in backup‑related projects, solution evaluations, and vendor interactions.
- Act as a senior technical escalation point and provide guidance to junior team members.
Requirements
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in backup administration, preferably in the banking or finance sector.
- Proven experience in enterprise backup and recovery administration.
- Strong understanding of backup architectures, restore operations, and cyber‑resilience concepts.
- Experience supporting virtualized, database, and file‑based environments.
- Solid operational mindset with strong troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work effectively in regulated, mission‑critical environments.
- Best Knowledge Dell Power Protect and DataDomain.
- Nice to have knowledge IBM Spectrum Protect and Protect Plus.
