Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Backfiller on 1st shift at our Taylorsville, NC manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for filling pillow ticks (covers) with natural feather, down, or polyester fiber products used in upholstered furniture.

Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence.

Your additional responsibilities will be cross trained to operate other cutting machines in the department. Other tasks as deemed necessary by supervision.

Skills and Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret work orders
• Fill fiber and feather backs and seats
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Maintain stead work pace in a high-volume department
• Must be able to read and interpret a tape measure
• Perform basis math skills
• Safely operate a forklift
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
