Why this role matters

As a Backend Software Engineer, Golang in the Risk Control team, you will build highly available Go services behind payment flows and risk-control systems. Solve complex problems across fraud prevention, regional availability, verification-based restrictiona, and marketing mechanics. The role requires diving deep into the domain and designing robust, unconventional solutions.

You’ll have the opportunity to work on projects such as:

• flexible customer segmentation platform;
• no-code real-time rule engine for managing business rules;

The role is based in our office in Limassol, Cyprus. In case of relocation, we offer full relocation support for you and your family to make your move smooth and worry-free.

What you'll actually do

• Consistently deliver core product features that meet functional and non-functional requirements.
• Write clean, secure, efficient code, perform thorough testing and debugging, and ensure seamless integration with other components while optimizing for scalability and addressing technical debt.
• Write well-documented code and automation tests with strong coverage. Improve testing practices across the team.
• Conduct code reviews, offer constructive feedback, and maintain documentation that meets company standards. Constantly work to improve code quality.
• Tackle complex architectural and performance problems.
• Drive improvements to service latency, fault tolerance, and resilience in high-load environments.
• Drive architecture discussions and influence technical decisions not only within the team but also across the department
• Prepare clear technical documentation and contribute to internal knowledge bases.
• Promote and apply clean code principles and best engineering practices.
• Automate repetitive tasks and contribute to performance optimizations.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and advocate for beneficial adoption.
• Participate in technical interviews, share knowledge with peers, and contribute to improving team processes and standards.
• Suggest and drive technical improvements.
• Support onboarding and ongoing growth of team members.

Who we’re looking for

• 5+ years of backend software development (3+ years of experience with Go)
• Experience with any Kafka Message Broker
• Experience with PostgreSQL
• Solid experience with ORM and DBMS, including database architecture.
• Skilled in Docker and Kubernetes is a huge plus
• Experience acting as a code reviewer.
• Experience with high-load, concurrency, and multithreading backend systems.
• Microservice development experience.
• Strong skills in building reliable and scalable services (design, APIs, storage, testing, CI/CD).
• Solid knowledge of modern development practices (version control, reviews, branching, releases).
• Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, system design, and integration patterns.
• Experience in software testing: unit, integration, and load tests.
• Experience in debugging, profiling, and code optimizations.
• English level B2+.
