Fam is India’s first payments app for everyone above 11. FamApp helps make online and offline payments through UPI and FamCard. We are on a mission to raise a new, financially aware generation, and drive 250 million+ young users in India to kickstart their financial journey super early in their life.

As an SDE-1, you will work on building and maintaining backend systems that are scalable, reliable, and production-ready. This is a hands-on coding role, where you’ll contribute to solving real-world engineering problems and shipping high-quality systems.

What you’ll do

• Build and maintain backend services in Golang
• Write clean, efficient, and production-quality code with guidance from senior engineers
• Solve structured problems using data structures and algorithms
• Work on implementing features end-to-end with support from the team
• Debug issues, fix bugs, and support production systems
• Improve existing systems for better performance, scalability, and maintainability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ship features

Must-haves

• 1–2 years of backend engineering experience
• Strong fundamentals in data structures & algorithms
• Hands-on experience in Golang (or strong willingness to learn quickly)
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code
• Basic understanding of backend systems (APIs, services, databases)
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work with existing codebases and learn quickly
• Understanding of edge cases and system reliability

Nice to have

• Exposure to production systems
• Familiarity with debugging, logging, and monitoring tools
• Understanding of basic system design concepts

Employment Details

• This role will be on a third-party payroll
• This is a 6-month contract role
