So that you don't have to imagine this, we have developed amber. amber is an AI-based, in-house search engine to make it easier for employees to access knowledge 📚

At amber, you’ll contribute to a growing AI platform that helps companies make better use of internal knowledge. With your Python and C/C++ skills, you’ll ensure our systems run reliably and continuously improve. You’ll actively support the evolution of our microservice architecture and work closely with the frontend, AI, and DevOps teams to deliver new features and enhance existing solutions. Tasks

• You develop and optimize scalable backend services that enable our customers to work reliably and quickly with our AI-powered platform
• You integrate new data sources via APIs and help make amberAI smarter with every integration
• Together with our AI, frontend, and DevOps teams, you take new features from idea to live rollout
• You actively contribute to our microservice architecture, propose improvements, and evolve existing modules
• User experience and platform functionality are the priorities in your code, followed by performance, modularity, and clean interfaces
• You consistently focus on security, data protection, and data quality in your work
• Your code ships directly into a production system used daily, so you’ll see your impact immediately

Requirements

• Experience building scalable microservices and working confidently with REST APIs
• Daily hands-on experience with Python, familiarity with the ecosystem stack, and productive application of it
• Additional language expertise in C/C++. Other languages like Go, Rust, or JavaScript are nice to have and can be applied flexibly depending on the use case
• Experience with modular software architecture and a solid understanding of clean code and system design
• Motivation to grow and try out new technologies hands-on
• Confident, reliable communication with various stakeholders—both in German and English
