The Engineering Team at SYKY is responsible for all aspects of the creation of our Technology Stack, from beautiful frontend experiences, to scalable backend services, and tools and platforms to support our creators and consumers.
The backend engineering team is responsible for crafting stable, scalable, and API driven systems which communicate harmoniously globally to power the SYKY ecosystem. We are a high performance, highly detailed, organization crafting world-class experiences, working with some of the most inspiring creatives in the fashion world.

- You are excited to develop new platform features and services powering experiences underpinning SYKY’s Product and wider teams.
- You have a passion for building reusable code for future use which is highly efficient, whilst ensuring that end-customer expectations are prioritized and delivered.
- You love communicating, and collaborate across our Frontend, UI/UX and Product teams to ensure the technical feasibility of services and the required supports.
- You have an obsession with performance, and focus on optimal system architecture for maximum speed and scalability
- You are fixated over data accuracy, ensuring that all user input is validated before being persisted or actioning upon, gathering information that matters when it matters whilst also being aware of Web3 Data Privacy Requirements
- You are a strong communicator, and able to collaborate with other team members and senior stakeholders
Desired Skills
- 4+ years of experience as an Engineer, including experience designing backend architectures/system infrastructures.
- Proficient understanding of Typescript (Node.js), Python, Java, or other server-side backend languages.
- Proficient understanding in designing GraphQL APIs (a plus), REST APIs (must) or other associated technologies for deliver data-over-the-wire.
- Good understanding of constructing well-architected backend code. Experience building with Nest.JS - a strong plus.
- Experience working with RDBMSs (Cockroach/Postgres/MySQL - a must), and other NoSQL databases (Cassandra, DynamoDB - a plus)
- Brilliant understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX/AJAJ, and the requirements of APIs to support such experience.
- An obsession with performance, focussing on delivering the fastest, most scalable, experiences.
- Knowledge working with headless CMSs, such as Contentful (preferred) or Adobe Headless CMS.
- Proficient understanding of GIT and feature-based development SCM strategies.
- Ability to coach other team members through Pull Requests, and guidance on implementation details.
- BSC Computer Science, or equivalent discipline, preferred but not required.
