This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Backend Developer - .NET (C#, SQL Server, REST APIs, WPF, AWS) based in India.
As a Backend Developer, you will build and maintain scalable, high-performance enterprise applications using C# and .NET.
You will contribute across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and technical design through testing, deployment, and production support.
The role combines strong backend engineering fundamentals with modern cloud, containerization, and AI-assisted development practices.
You will work with REST APIs, SQL Server, WPF, Windows and Linux environments, while supporting applications designed for flexible cloud deployment.
You will also explore Agentic AI and developer productivity tools to enhance software development, testing, debugging, and documentation.
Close collaboration with technical and business stakeholders will be essential as you translate complex requirements into reliable solutions.

Accountabilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable, reliable, and high-performance applications using C# and .NET.
- Participate throughout the complete Software Development Lifecycle, including requirements analysis, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Build reusable, maintainable, and well-structured software components following established engineering standards and best practices.
- Develop and maintain REST APIs and integrate applications with SQL Server and other enterprise data sources.
- Prepare technical design documentation and participate in technical walkthroughs, architecture discussions, and solution reviews.
- Collaborate with business partners and technical stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable improvements to application reliability, performance, and maintainability.
- Develop and maintain automated unit and acceptance tests while applying quality engineering practices throughout the development lifecycle.
- Apply Agentic AI and AI-assisted development approaches to improve software development, testing, debugging, documentation, code reviews, and developer productivity.
- Use GitHub Copilot effectively across development activities while considering appropriate usage, premium request consumption, and cost efficiency.
- Establish and follow AI guardrails to ensure AI-assisted development is secure, reliable, and appropriate for enterprise environments.
- Apply security and data protection principles when integrating AI capabilities into applications, ensuring sensitive or customer information is appropriately protected.
- Develop and package applications in a cloud- and deployment-agnostic manner.
- Work with AWS container technologies to support application deployment, build pipelines, development environments, and other engineering activities.
- Apply containerization and cloud-native development practices to support reliable deployment across different environments.
Requirements
- 4–6 years of professional application development experience, with strong hands-on expertise in C# and .NET.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, software development principles, and modern engineering practices.
- Experience developing and integrating REST APIs and working with WPF-based applications.
- Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server, SQL, database integration, and enterprise application data.
- Experience working across Windows and Linux environments.
- Practical understanding of automated testing, including unit and acceptance testing.
- Experience participating in the complete SDLC, from requirements analysis and technical design through development, deployment, and production support.
- Ability to create technical documentation, conduct technical walkthroughs, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, problem-solving, and performance optimization skills.
- Practical experience or strong interest in Agentic AI, AI-assisted software development, and tools such as GitHub Copilot.
- Understanding of AI guardrails, secure AI integration, data protection, and responsible use of AI within software development.
- Experience with AWS and containerized application development, including AWS container technologies and cloud deployment practices.
- Ability to design applications that minimize unnecessary platform dependencies and can be deployed across different environments.
- Docker, Kubernetes, AWS CI/CD, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native development experience are advantageous.
- Familiarity with software design patterns, application security, prompt engineering, AI-assisted testing, debugging, or AI-powered code reviews is a plus.
