Job Description

We're looking for a Junior Backend Developer to join our Core Services team for a multi-platform, challenging role. In this role, you will help build and maintain scalable backend microservices serving millions of daily users, and contribute to AI agentic flows — from prompt engineering and tool usage through deployment and evaluation with guidance and support from senior engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to backend features in a high-scale, consumer-facing domain participating across the lifecycle from spec and design through development, deployment, and production monitoring, with mentorship from senior team members.
  • Work in a cross-functional domain at Pango R&D using Python, .NET Core, and/or Node.js.
  • Help build and maintain cloud-native, event-driven services on AWS.
  • Build and reuse AI-driven components (e.g., sub-agents, skills, and templates) to streamline workflows and improve efficiency, leveraging modern AI tools and technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, DevOps, Mobile, and QA.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in backend development, with hands-on involvement in shipping features to production.
  • Working experience with at least one of: Python, .NET Core, Node.js — and eagerness to learn and work across all three.
  • Familiarity with cloud architecture (AWS preferable) and exposure to event-driven or distributed systems.
  • Hands-on use of an agentic IDE (Claude Code / Cursor etc.) as a primary development tool.
  • Practical experience with AI agentic flows — prompt engineering, tool orchestration, and a basic understanding of how they are deployed and evaluated.
  • Solid grasp of core design patterns and architecture fundamentals, including working knowledge of SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
  • Good communication skills and willingness to collaborate across engineering teams.
