Eldora is the backyard winter mountain playground for Greater Denver, Boulder County, and Colorado's northern Front Range. Eldora is located just outside of the charming mountain town of Nederland, Colorado, about 20 miles west of Boulder and less than 50 miles from downtown Denver.

Position Summary: The Seasonal Back of House (BOH) Manager is a career-driven and creative culinary professional with strong leadership qualities and the ability to manage kitchen operations across multiple concepts. This individual is hands-on, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and cleanliness. The ideal candidate is either a graduate of a two-year or four-year accredited culinary or executive chef program with relevant experience or has a minimum of 8 years in high-quality kitchen environments. As a leader on the Food & Beverage team, the ideal candidate will lead, by example, mentors line staff, and contributes to a positive and professional kitchen culture. Reports to the F&B Director.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

• Own scheduling and job assignments for multiple concepts at the resort.
• Work with BOH Leads to ensure accurate temperature logs, dating & EOM Inventory process.
• Has the ability to be responsible for multiple outlets as part of Eldora’s food & beverage operation.
• Ensures prep sheets and cooking instructions are accurate, concise and executed to standards.
• Develops and ensures all recipes and standards are read, followed and executed
• Takes responsibility for the products used in their outlet and manages it to assure a quality product.
• Responsible for and supervises team leads and members regarding food handling, including rotation, sanitation of all storage areas, labeling and dating, and ensures all storage areas are maintained.
• Advises upper management of anticipated problems.
• Assists in the menu development process, ordering food, the creation, usage, and follow through of prep lists, cleaning lists, and closing lists, & the direction and supervision of staff.
• Sets the example by following all company safety policies and procedures, actively contributing to a safe working environment for self, coworkers, and guests.
• All employees are expected to support Eldora’s corporate responsibility commitment to protect the environment by participating in our Sustainable Transportation Program. This includes choosing alternative transportation, carpooling, using the employee shuttle, and avoiding onsite parking on weekends and peak days. These actions help reduce Scope 3 emissions, lead by example, and ensure adequate parking for our guests.

Specific Job Skills:

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Serve Safe Certified.

Physical Demands:

• Bending, reaching, climbing, pushing, pulling & prolonged standing.
• Eye/hand coordination & visual concentration on equipment.
• Concentrated reading and writing.
• Must be able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs. 
• Variation in temperature from hot to cold.

Schedule:

• Non-Peak Days (M-F): 7:30am-4:30pm or 9:30am-5:30pm
• Peak Days (Sa/Sun/Holidays): 6:30am-2:30pm or 9:30am-5:30pm
• This schedule represents an average work week and is subject to change based on guest volume, operational needs, and weather conditions.

• Training, coaching/feedback & employee engagement
• Daily Operations
• Scheduling

Compensation & Benefits:

• Compensation: Proposed salary of $60,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
• Benefits: This is a seasonal position eligible for season pass for employees/dependents and privileges at several other resorts. Several discount programs (i.e. food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.) also available. Additionally, this position accumulates sick time.
