Back End Team Lead

We are looking for a high-caliber Back End Team Lead to spearhead our engineering efforts. In this role, you will balance technical excellence with people management, ensuring our Sportsbook platform remains scalable, secure, and high-performing. You will be responsible for the growth of your team, the delivery of complex microservices, and the day-to-day operational success of the backend unit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Management: Lead, mentor, and "follow through" on the professional development of backend engineers. Conduct regular 1:1s and foster a high-performance culture.
  • Operational Excellence: Organize the team's day-to-day workflow, manage sprint priorities, and ensure the roadmap is executed on time.
  • Technical Knowledgement: Provide expert guidance on NET Core and Microservices architecture. Ensure the team follows best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Problem Solving: Proactively identify technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and architectural issues. You are expected to not just find problems, but to own the strategy to fix them.
  • Domain Alignment: Leverage your experience in the Gaming/Sportsbook industry to build features that handle high concurrency, real-time data processing, and complex betting logic.

Requirements

  • Proven Leadership: +3 years of experience managing engineering teams, ideally in fast-paced or scale-up environments.
  • Expert .NET Knowledge: Strong command of C#, .NET 6/8+, and the surrounding ecosystem.
  • Microservices Mastery: Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and maintaining distributed systems and event-driven architectures (using tools like RabbitMQ, Kafka, or gRPC).
  • Industry Experience: Previous experience in Sportsbooks, Casinos, or the Gaming industry is highly preferred (understanding odds, risk management, or high-volume transactional systems).
  • Operational Follow-up: Demonstrated ability to track tasks from inception to production, ensuring "definition of done" is strictly met.
