Bachelor-/ Masterthesis - Development of an automated test rig for electrical performance tests (m/f/d)

ArianeGroup GmbH in Lampoldshausen is looking for a Bachelor-/ Masterthesis in the field of - Development of an automated test rig for electrical performance tests (m/f/d) for the department JLOM7 – EP Integration & Test.

Your main tasks and activities:

During development and acceptance testing, flight components to be delivered to the customer as well as test equipments like test harnesses need to be subjected to electrical performance & health check testing. The tests shall be conducted following a fixed procedure and test sequence. Following the test, a test report needs to be created. The test results shall be stored in a data base. Currently theses tests are performed in manual labor and shall be automated in order to increase the reproducibility (eliminate operator influence) and to reduce cost. Following types of measurements need to be performed among automatically others: Resistance/continuity; High voltage/Insulation; Frequency dependent Inductivity; Capacity, Quality factor.

• Review of existing test operator work instructions/ test procedures
• Review market study for a make or buy decision
• Trade off/Selection of instruments that can be controlled from remote
• Develop a software driver to control instruments via Software
• Write and specify a software that allows the automatic execution of user-defined test sequences
• Create automatic test data report
• Defining a software interface which transfer relevant data to SAP PM or Siemens Team Center
• Planning and conducting a verification test
• Documentation within a design description

You have the following qualifications:

• Enrolled full time student within Electrical Engineering or similar subject
• Practical electrical measurement experience
• Interfacing laboratory instruments with a computer
• Programming experience ideally in Labview, Python or similar
• General solid IT proficiency
• Very good English and German language skills (as operator procedures are written in German language)

• Vocational training in an electrical profession
