Job Description – Business Analyst (Digital Insurance & API Integrations)
Required Skills & Responsibilities
Business & Requirement Analysis
Engage with business, product, operations, and technology teams to understand
insurance use cases, workflows, and pain points
.
Elicit, analyze, and document
business, functional, and non-functional requirements
.
Create and maintain
BRDs, FRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and data mappings
.
Ensure
end-to-end requirement traceability
across solution design, development, and testing phases.
Digital Insurance Solutioning
Support
solution design for end-to-end digital insurance journeys
.
Work closely with
architects and developers
to ensure business requirements align with technical feasibility.
Participate in
solution walkthroughs, design reviews, and dependency discussions
.
API & Integration Ownership
Strong understanding of
REST APIs and integration-based architectures
.
Ability to
read, interpret, and review API specifications
, including request/response structures, headers, payloads, and error codes.
Define and validate
API contracts, data elements, mandatory vs optional fields, business rule validations, and error handling logic
.
Support integrations with
insurers/reinsurers, KYC providers, payment gateways, and third-party insurtech platforms
.
Work with technical teams to ensure
accurate mapping of business rules at the API level
, avoiding issues during UAT and production releases.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
Act as the
primary interface between business users, internal technology teams, and external partners
.
Coordinate with
insurers and vendors
for API clarifications, dependency resolution, and approvals.
Drive
requirement walkthroughs, impact assessments, and solution alignment sessions
.
Testing, UAT & Go-Live Support
Create and review
test scenarios, UAT cases, and negative scenarios
, particularly around API failures and edge cases.
Support
defect triaging
by identifying whether issues relate to data, rules, APIs, or integrations.
Assist in
pre-go-live readiness, release documentation, and post-production stabilization
.
Governance & Documentation
Ensure compliance with
internal governance, audit, and regulatory requirements
.
Maintain documentation for
change requests, impact analysis, API change logs, release notes, and solution summaries
.
Support
leadership reviews
with concise documentation and decision-oriented presentations.
Educational Qualification
MBA (Finance / Operations / Systems preferred) + B.Tech / BE
.
BA / Agile / Product certifications
are an added advantage.
Experience
2–4 years of experience
as a
Business Analyst in Insurance, BFSI, or Insurtech
.
Proven experience working on
API-driven digital platforms
.
Experience working in
Agile or hybrid delivery models
