Job Description

This temporary opportunity is for a B2 Resourcing Consultant in the Strategic Resourcing Team, part of Social Security Scotland’s People and Place division.

The Resourcing Team leads the recruitment of staff into the organisation, ensuring activity is delivered in line with our values of dignity, fairness and respect, and the Civil Service Commission Recruitment Principles.

This role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with a range of business areas, managing recruitment activity, supporting Hiring Managers across multiple workstreams that support organisational priorities and providing advice on resourcing policies and processes.

You will work closely with various stakeholders to deliver recruitment plans, develop innovative approaches, improve processes and engage with external stakeholders, including candidates, employability providers, colleges and universities.

Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with Hiring Managers, providing expert advice and support throughout the recruitment lifecycle, including workforce planning, campaign timelines, assessment design and recruitment delivery.
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment campaigns, ensuring delivery against agreed objectives, service standards and performance metrics, while identifying opportunities to improve recruitment processes and candidate experience.
  • Develop and deliver candidate attraction strategies, using a range of channels including social media, LinkedIn and running information sessions to promote opportunities and increase employer brand awareness.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to support recruitment campaigns, raise awareness of vacancies and attract diverse talent pools.
  • Conduct market research and talent mapping, using labour market intelligence, salary benchmarking and industry insights to inform recruitment strategies and support hard-to-fill vacancies.
  • Support Resourcing Managers in delivering projects and workstreams by leading on specific actions, coordinating activities, monitoring progress and contributing to successful outcomes.
  • Coordinate recruitment activities including candidate communications, sifts, interviews and assessment processes, ensuring a positive candidate experience throughout.
  • Facilitate and present at candidate workshops, information sessions, careers events and job fairs in a confident and engaging manner.
  • Support talent pooling and proactive candidate engagement to build future pipelines for key and specialist roles.
  • Champion inclusive recruitment practices, ensuring fairness, accessibility and a high-quality experience for candidates and hiring managers.

Duration of Temporary Opportunity
This opportunity is for up to 6 months.

Hybrid Working
Our standard hours are 35 hours per week, and we offer a range of flexible working options, depending on the needs of the role. We embrace a hybrid working style where all colleagues will spend time in either our Glasgow or Dundee offices. There is an expectation of a minimum 2 days per week in your assigned location.
