The ideal candidate is a motivated team-player with deep technical expertise in Azure services and cloud computing, a passion for automation, and the ability to communicate complex architectural decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. This position requires an active Secret clearance at minimum, with Top Secret preferred.

We offer competitive compensation and an extraordinary benefits package including health, dental and vision insurance, 401K with company matching, flexible spending accounts, paid holidays, three weeks paid time off, and more.

The Senior Azure Engineer will serve on a focused, small team responsible for supporting and expanding Azure Cloud service offerings used by a federal agency to modernize and migrate systems to the cloud. • Work closely with the Product Owner, Scrum Master, engineers, and security engineers to define and build initial service offerings as well as the roadmap for future releases.
• Communicate architectural trade-offs and design options clearly so that the Product Owner and executive leadership can make informed, strategic decisions.
• Participate in and support a team charged with coordinating and implementing various solutions required to support the Azure Cloud environment.
• Implement proof of concepts and pilots for various cloud solutions and develop operational plans for supporting all developed solutions.
• Create documentation and implementation plans for various solutions used to access and leverage Azure.

• Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts utilizing logical constructs such as if/else, foreach, try/catch, and more.
• Partner with development and operations teams to develop practical automation solutions and custom modules, troubleshoot automation issues, and drive projects forward in a timely manner.
• Drive a culture of collaboration, transparency, and automation within the engineering team.
• Identify constraints and bottlenecks in engineering lifecycles and develop automated solutions to address them.
• Research, analyze, design, propose, and support the delivery of cloud solutions aligned with business and technology strategies.
• Support Change and Configuration Management best practices across the team.
• Operate within an Agile development environment, supporting Scrum and/or Kanban methodologies.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate Certificate (AZ-104).
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate (AZ-204).
• Significant experience in Azure cloud engineering, administration, or architecture roles.
• Demonstrated experience working in or supporting a federal government IT environment.
• Active Secret Clearance or higher.

Required Skills and Competencies:

• Exceptional communication skills in English – both written and oral – with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executive leadership.
• Ability to set the technical tone and drive an Azure engineering team toward common infrastructure goals.
• Deep understanding of IaaS and PaaS services offered on Azure and the ability to leverage them together to build complex, enterprise-grade solutions.
• Experience building and supporting YAML-based CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, CircleCI, or equivalent.
• Experience building and supporting Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible, Salt, Chef, CloudFormation, or equivalent.
