Azure Security Lead (6–8 Years Experience)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Azure Security Lead to drive and strengthen the security posture of a modern workplace environment built on Microsoft Azure. This is a key leadership role where you will design, implement, and oversee end-to-end cloud security strategies while collaborating across security, DevOps, compliance, and IT teams.

Key Responsibilities

Azure Security Strategy

• 
  Define and lead the Azure security roadmap aligned with business objectives
• 
  Stay up to date with the latest Azure security services and best practices

Security Architecture & Design

• 
  Design secure Azure solutions across IAM, network security, data protection, and threat detection
• 
  Embed security across application and infrastructure lifecycles

Governance, Risk & Compliance

• 
  Establish policies, standards, and procedures for Azure environments
• 
  Ensure compliance with industry regulations and lead audits/assessments

Monitoring & Incident Response

• 
  Implement monitoring using Azure Monitor, Defender for Cloud, and Sentinel
• 
  Lead incident response and recovery efforts

Security Automation

• 
  Develop automation scripts and playbooks (PowerShell, Python)
• 
  Streamline security operations

Training & Awareness

• 
  Drive security awareness programs across technical and business teams

Vendor Risk Management

• 
  Assess and manage third-party and cloud vendor security risks

Leadership & Collaboration

• 
  Lead and mentor a team of security professionals
• 
  Collaborate with DevOps, Legal, Compliance, and IT teams

Required Skills & Experience

• 
  6–8 years of experience in cloud/security roles
• 
  Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure security services
• 
  Hands-on experience with:
  • 
    Azure Monitor
  • 
    Microsoft Defender for Cloud
  • 
    Azure Sentinel
• 
  Deep understanding of:
  • 
    Identity & Access Management (IAM)
  • 
    Network security & data protection
  • 
    Security frameworks and compliance standards
• 
  Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, or similar)
• 
  Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Nice to Have

• 
  8+ years of relevant experience
• 
  Certifications such as:
  • 
    AZ-500 (Azure Security Engineer)
  • 
    SC-100, SC-300, MS-500
  • 
    Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• 
  Experience leading enterprise cloud security initiatives
• 
  Fluency in Dutch (C1/C2) and English
