Capital Markets, Trading and Asset Services, is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer with strong skills to join our global development team to work on the next generation of Virtus Middle Office and Collateral Administration
productofferings This role is responsible for automation‑first quality assurance for data‑driven platforms built on SQL Server, Azure cloud services, and Snowflake.
The individual will thrive by being a team-oriented player in a highly collaborative environment using agile development processes. The candidate must be a self-starter who is always open to optimizing existing practices through new technologies, patterns, and processes.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with business analysts, developers, and other QA team members to analyze requirements, identify test scenarios, and define test strategies.
Design, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases for complex, data-intensive applications. Conduct functional, regression, integration, and system testing to ensure compliance with cloud and data workloads.
Perform database testing to validate data integrity, transformations, stored procedures, triggers, and business rules.
Test Azure‑based services and integrations, including APIs, messaging, and data pipelines.
Contribute to the existing automation framework using Selenium, Cucumber, ReadyAPI Support CI/CD pipeline testing, validating builds, deployments, and environment configurations.
Participate in the agile (Scrum) process throughout SDLC to ensure delivery of high-quality, reliable software solutions.
Collaborate with developers and data engineers to identify defects early, improve overall test coverage and establish performance baselines early in the development cycle.
Participate in design reviews, test case reviews, and sprint ceremonies; provide clear QA status and risk assessments to stakeholders.
Share knowledge and contribute to QA process improvements, automation frameworks, and best practices.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience
Hands‑on experience testing SQL Server–based systems and complex data models
Experience testing applications and integrations deployed in Azure cloud environments
Strong understanding of data testing principles, including transformations, reconciliations, and edge‑case validation
Experience testing APIs and system integrations
Exposure to test automation concepts and tools
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Site Reliability Engineering is good-to-have.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably using Azure Data Factory (ADF)
Experience with automated testing frameworks for data or API validation preferably DBT and python frameworks.
Performance or volume testing experience for data‑intensive applications
Experience working in large-scale, enterprise, or regulated environments.
