About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Azure Data Solution Architect to join our team in Amsterdam, Netherlands In this role, you will design and build scalable, secure, and high-performing data platforms using modern Azure data technologies.

You will work closely with business and technology teams to transform complex business requirements into robust data architecture solutions that support analytics, reporting, and regulatory compliance within the financial domain.

Key Responsibilities

Data Architecture & Platform Design

• 
  Design and implement scalable Azure-based data platforms and architectures
• 
  Develop solutions leveraging Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Synapse Analytics, and ADLS Gen2
• 
  Implement Lakehouse architectures, Delta Lake solutions, and modern data warehousing models

Business & Technical Alignment

• 
  Translate complex business requirements into clear technical solutions
• 
  Collaborate with business stakeholders and engineering teams to design efficient and scalable data solutions.

Governance, Security & Compliance

• 
  Ensure solutions meet data governance, security, and regulatory requirements
• 
  Support compliance with frameworks such as DAMA, GDPR, and BCBS

Architecture & Engineering Best Practices

• 
  Apply architectural modelling frameworks such as ARIS and ArchiMate
• 
  Design systems using Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and Event-Driven Architecture
• 
  Ensure best practices in quality assurance, software development, and monitoring

DevOps & Deployment

• 
  Utilize Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code.
• 
  Support deployment strategies across Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments

Collaboration

• 
  Work within Agile teams and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including developers, analysts, and business leaders.

Required Skills & Experience

• 8–10 years of experience in data architecture and engineering roles.

  Strong expertise in Azure data services, including:

    Databricks
  • 
    Azure Data Factory
  • 
    Azure SQL
  • 
    Synapse Analytics
  • 
    ADLS Gen2
  • 
    App Services
  • 
    Power BI
• 
  Strong knowledge of data warehousing, Lakehouse architecture, Delta Lake, and data modelling
• 
  Experience working in banking or financial services environments
• 
  Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks
• 
  Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Preferred Certifications

• Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect
• Azure Data Engineer Associate
