Job Description


As an Azure Data Architect, you will:

  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance data platforms on Azure

  • Architect end-to-end data solutions using Azure services like Databricks, Synapse, and Data Factory

  • Define and drive Lakehouse and modern data architecture strategies

  • Translate complex business requirements into actionable technical designs

  • Lead architectural governance, standards, and best practices across data platforms

  • Collaborate with engineering, business, and compliance teams to align solutions

  • Design data models and frameworks supporting analytics, reporting, and AI use cases

  • Ensure systems meet regulatory, security, and compliance requirements in financial environments

  • Guide implementation of event-driven and domain-driven architecture patterns

  • Oversee deployment models across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments

What You Bring to the Table:

  • 10+ years of overall experience, with strong focus on data architecture and Azure ecosystems

  • Deep expertise in Azure services: Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Synapse Analytics, ADLS Gen2, App Services

  • Strong knowledge of data warehousing, Lakehouse architecture, Delta Lake, and data modeling

  • Hands-on experience with architectural frameworks like ARIS and ArchiMate

  • Proven experience in financial services, banking, or regulated environments

  • Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks (DAMA, GDPR, BCBS)

  • Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code

  • Familiarity with domain-driven design and event-driven architecture

  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle, QA practices, and monitoring

  • Preferred certifications: Azure Solutions Architect or Azure Data Engineer Associate

You should possess the ability to:

  • Break down complex business problems into scalable data architecture solutions

  • Design and optimize large-scale distributed data systems

  • Drive architectural decisions with a balance of performance, cost, and scalability

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards in data handling and storage

  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Lead cross-functional teams in Agile environments

  • Evaluate and select appropriate Azure services based on use case

  • Implement strong data governance and security practices

  • Build reusable, modular, and future-proof data architectures

  • Influence stakeholders and drive technical direction at an organizational level
