of the Position: (Purpose of the Position): Lead fitness classes offered to faculty, staff, and students throughout the school year.
Transferable Skills: Vigilance and risk management awareness, punctuality, attention to detail, reliability, communication.
Duties and Responsibilities: Lead and instruct fitness classes each week during the school year, arrive early to make sure the room is set for class, come prepared with a lesson plan for each session, check-in participants as they come into class, and record participation and send to supervisor after every week.
Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills) Certification or equivalent experience, personable, comfortable leading a group.
Physical and Environmental Factors:
Depending on the type of fitness class instructed, this position may require crouching, kneeling/crawling, stooping, twisting/pivoting, climbing/balancing, reaching overhead, grasping/handling, pushing/pulling, lifting and carrying objects up to 20 or 50 lbs., and repetitive motions to perform the essential functions. It may also require exposure to loud noise, respiratory factors, chemicals, wet or humid conditions indoors, and extreme cold or extreme heat. Candidates must possess the ability to safely perform the physical work required of all duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
