About the Role
This is not a traditional, siloed service desk role. We are actively seeking a candidate who is well-versed in AWS cloud services, troubleshooting and resolving issues, enabling growth and continuous improvement, and able to strategically design complex solutions to fulfill an AWS Solutions Engineer position. You will be expected to adapt and be innovative in response to changing cloud service provider offerings, regulatory compliance requirements, and business needs. This role is in support of a secure and enterprise scale environment with federally regulated compliance requirements.
We are specifically looking for someone who can contribute to:
Solution Design - Operate effectively across multiple cloud environments—Azure, AWS, GCP—without reliance on rigid team boundaries; Using well-architected frameworks, develop and implement reusable cloud patterns and solutions using Infrastructure As Code for self-service secure delivery.
Continuous Monitoring - Continuous improvement of compliance and cyberposture through AWS Security Hub CSPM, Config/Cloudtrail, Guardduty, and integration with Azure Defender; Develop and mature guardrails and governance policies.
Problem Solving - Troubleshoot and resolve problems within AWS cloud environments, document and communicate issues to the broader team as part of knowledge transfer and learning. opportunities, identify the right resources required to pull in for support, and keep operations moving fluidly.
Networking - Diagnose and address network connectivity issues, maintain and correct security groups, route tables, subnet and VPC allocations, VPNs and peerings, and balance reliability and costs.
FinOps – Effectively manage resource costs, budgets, anomalies, and reporting.
Data Analytics - Manage big data analytics platforms and workloads and intelligently manage data tiers.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in information systems or relevant field and 4+ years practical experience in the field or a Master’s degree and 2+ years of practical experience, additional years of experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.
Ability to obtain a public trust / be issued an interim approval.
Ability to self-manage work tasks using M365 based tools.
Demonstrated and proven ability to independently resolve issues, improve day-to-day operations with self-driven initiatives, and operate with a growth mindset.
Hands-on experience building and architecting multi-cloud networks with secure routing and firewalls.
Understanding and practical exposure with regulatory controls, baselines, and security policies within AWS cloud environments (CIS benchmarks, STIG, etc).
Hands-on experience building solutions with AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or other tools.

Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00
