Role: AWS Cloud Engineer (m/f/d)
For an ongoing project we are looking for an AWS Cloud Engineer (m/f/d) or AWS Solution Architect (m/f/d). In this role You will work in a highly regulated environment, applying best practices for compliance, security, and operational excellence across AWS.
Project Conditions:
Your responsibilities:
Extend and maintain a CI/CD pipelines to enable developer teams to test, build, release, and deploy features and updates across multiple environments and applications, primarily targeting AWS ECS, EKS, and Lambda.
Create, extend, and maintain reusable Terraform modules to provision and manage AWS resources (ECS, EKS, RDS, Lambda, S3, VPC, and more); manage the full infrastructure lifecycle.
Build and operate services on EKS-based Kubernetes clusters; design and maintain Docker images for internal developer use following security and minimal-image best practices.
Design and manage AWS networking including VPCs, Transit Gateway, VPN, NAT Gateways, and security groups, ensuring compliance with security and regulatory requirements.
Set up and maintain monitoring, alerting, and dashboards (Prometheus, Grafana); participate in on-call rotation and drive incident resolution and post-mortem improvements.
We are looking for:
Hands-on experience with core AWS services: ECS, EKS, EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch, and AWS networking (VPC, Transit Gateway, VPN, NAT Gateway, Security Groups).
Proven background in a highly regulated industry (e.g. finance, healthcare, insurance) with an understanding of compliance.
At least 4 years of experience as a Cloud Engineer/ Cloud Solution Architect or in similar roles.
Solid Terraform experience at scale – module development, remote state management, and infrastructure as code best practices.
Strong Docker and Kubernetes skills: container image design, EKS cluster management, autoscaling, and workload reliability.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
Proficiency with Linux and scripting (Bash); experience with Ruby is a plus.
Certified AWS Solution Architect – Professional
Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken) and a collaborative mindset for working across development and operations teams.
Nice to Have:
Experience with event-driven architecture using AWS SNS, SQS, or EventBridge.
Knowledge of AWS security services: Security Hub, Config, CloudTrail.
Any specialty certification, such as Database, Security, Advanced Networking is a plus.
Familiarity with service mesh technologies (e.g. Istio, Linkerd).
AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, Security Specialty).
Experience with database management on AWS RDS (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Aurora).
Prior experience with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS
