Job Description

East House is a dedicated non-profit organization committed to supporting individuals on their

journey to recovery. We provide comprehensive services, including residential support,

counseling, peer support and community outreach to empower individuals to overcome mental

The Awake Overnight Counselor provides alert, awake overnight supervision, monitoring the

environment for safety and security, and supports the facility's operational needs to maintain a

safe, clean, and recovery-focused environment.

Responsibilities

Client Services and Goal Achievement:

· Supervises clients in managing medications according to East House medication policies

and procedures.

· Properly logs medications and ensures documentation is consistent with medication

changes.

· Performs medication book audits as directed by immediate supervisor.

· Monitors the environment regularly to ensure safety and security.

· Responds immediately to crises and emergencies following East House policies.

· Provides light housekeeping, stocks kitchen supplies, and performs basic clerical support

tasks.

· Prepares household supply inventories as directed.

· Performs routine facility maintenance, including exterior maintenance such as clearing

pathways.

· Completes unit-specific overnight checklist items.

Documentation and Reporting

· Ensure all client interactions, service plans, and progress are documented accurately

according to East House standards and regulatory requirements.

· Provides regular updates and progress reports to supervisors and stakeholders regarding

client status and goals.

Requirements

Education

· High School Diploma or GED; or

· Equivalent experience in lieu of education.

Experience

· Prior residential support or case management experience preferred.

Other Skills/Abilities

· Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Exceptional customer service skills with commitment to helping others.

· Ability to quickly adapt and be flexible in approach to job tasks and challenges and

maintain emotional control under stress.

· Excellent time management skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to

multi-task and manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines.

· Capability to work cooperatively with culturally diverse clients, staff, and community

service providers.

· Basic computer literacy, including the ability to use email, conduct online research, and

create basic documents (MS Office Suite including Excel, Outlook and Word).

Working Conditions/Work Environment

Traditional office environment. Occasionally subjected to pressure due to time demands. May

have to travel to various program locations which may not be accessible for individuals with

reduced mobility.
