In Risk & Performance Management Department (RPMD), we work collaboratively across teams to identify and address potential blind spots, ensuring that all relevant risks are considered and duly addressed.

The Operational Risk Management (ORM) team is responsible for driving and managing the corporate operational risk management programme within GIC. We are looking for a dynamic and self-motivated individual to join the team as an Assistant Vice President/ Vice President, focusing on data analytics to strengthen risk and control oversight.

You will be part of a team responsible for the independent assessment, measurement, monitoring and reporting of GIC's operational risk profile. You will bring a data-driven approach across the team's mandate, using analytics and AI/LLM tools to evaluate controls, support third-party and outsourcing risk assessments, generate insights, and strengthen the firm's overall risk and control environment.

What will you do as an AVP/VP in ORM?

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and data analytics capability to meet the team's risk analysis, monitoring and reporting needs
  • Analyse and interpret large data sets to identify risks, control gaps, trends and thematic issues, and translate findings into actionable recommendations
  • Apply data analytics to enhance control assurance and testing (e.g. automating test procedures, running full-population testing on raw transactional data in place of sampling, and identifying control exceptions and anomalies)
  • Support third-party and outsourcing due diligence and risk assessments with data-driven analysis (e.g. vendor risk data, concentration analysis, and identification of emerging risks)
  • Leverage AI/LLM tools to augment risk and control workflows (e.g. reviewing documentation, extracting and summarising key information from contracts and reports, comparing responses against policy requirements to flag gaps, and generating first-cut insights for reviewer refinement)
  • Track, collate and report key risk indicators (KRIs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) across the team's remit, and analyse trends to flag emerging risks and control weaknesses
  • Monitor and report risk and control outcomes to senior management and GIC's risk governance committees
  • Contribute to the design and continuous improvement of methodologies, frameworks and supporting tools, including embedding AI/analytics into assessment workflows
  • Work with risk managers and business stakeholders to embed a rigorous, data-driven approach across the team's activities

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

Must-haves:

  • At least 5 (AVP) and 7 (VP) years' experience in data analytics, business intelligence or a related field
  • Strong / advanced proficiency in data mining, analysis and visualisation tools (e.g. Databricks, Tableau), and programming languages such as Python and SQL
  • Practical experience applying AI/LLM tools to analytics or risk work (e.g. document review, summarisation, gap analysis, and workflow automation)

Good to have:

  • Experience in control assurance, control testing, or a related assurance discipline, including familiarity with control frameworks and testing methodologies
  • Experience in third-party risk management, vendor due diligence or outsourcing risk, including familiarity with due diligence methodologies and risk assessment frameworks
  • Broader domain knowledge in operational risk, audit or a related risk and controls field

Attributes:

  • Intellectually curious, with a passion for using data and AI to connect the dots and generate insights that translate into value for stakeholders
  • Strong analytical judgement, with the ability to synthesise diverse information into clear conclusions
  • Adept at presenting findings in strong, digestible visuals
  • Forward-thinking and keen to stay current with developments in the risk, analytics and AI space
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally across business areas and seniority levels
  • Strong organisational and project management skills
