Job Purpose

Drive life insurance sales to unmapped clients across the region to meet clients’ protection and wealth needs. Manage the HSBC Sales Process end-to-end—from prospecting and needs analysis through solution recommendation, application-to-issuance follow-up, and post-sale servicing—while upholding high standards of suitability, conduct, and customer outcomes.

This is a specialist insurance sales role within International Wealth & Premier Banking (IWPB). Success is measured by individual sales performance and quality outcomes.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Own individual life insurance sales targets by sourcing and converting unmapped client opportunities across the region
  • Build and manage a disciplined pipeline across lead qualification, appointments, fact-finds, proposals, submissions, underwriting requirements and issuance
  • Perform protection gap analysis and recommend suitable solutions aligned to client needs, affordability and risk considerations
  • Execute sales activity in line with the HSBC Sales Process and required documentation standards
  • Explain recommendations clearly including product features, risks, exclusions, charges and commitments to support informed client decisions
  • Partner with operations, underwriting, product partners/manufacturers and IWPB stakeholders to progress cases and deliver a smooth client experience
  • Maintain accurate case tracking and provide timely MI on funnel progress, conversion, issued business and persistency and quality indicators
  • Share market and client insights on objections, competitor positioning and process pain points to strengthen proposition and execution

What we're looking for

  • Minimum Graduate
  • Hold an IRDAI Composite License or equivalent certification or bring equivalent demonstrable experience where applicable for distribution or advisory activities
  • Bring substantial experience in life insurance sales and/or financial advisory with evidence of personal sales delivery and conversion
  • Apply consultative selling skills across fact-find, needs analysis, recommendation, objection handling, closing and follow-through
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of AML standards and relevant local and Group compliance requirements for insurance sales
  • Execute regulated sales activity with consistent documentation quality and accurate disclosures
  • Maintain Training and Competency status including Continuous Professional Development (CPD) requirements
  • Complete mandatory Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions training and the required post-course assessment
  • Use case systems effectively to keep MI accurate and ensure strong data quality across the sales funnel

Pro-tip : Familiarity with AI-enabled tools is an advantage.
