Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

Salary Range

$146,400.00 - $241,600.00

What Is the Opportunity?

Travelers is seeking an experienced marketing executive to fill the role of Assistant Vice President, Personal Insurance (PI) Marketing. This is an established leadership position with broad scope across brand, agency/distribution marketing, and digital channels. The AVP will work to help define and drive the overarching PI marketing strategy, translating business objectives into integrated marketing programs that generate profitable growth. The AVP is responsible for the development and execution of effective marketing strategies to help our sales teams and agent partners drive new business and retention for Personal Lines.

What Will You Do?

  • Support the marketing strategy for a business area, aligning brand, distribution, and digital efforts with business goals and the five-year roadmap; partner with internal teams (i.e., product, underwriting, analytics, sales, etc.) to shape go-to-market plans and monitor competitive and consumer trends to continuously evolve positioning.
  • Lead integrated brand and campaign initiatives that strengthens Travelers' brand equity and drive customer acquisition and retention, overseeing creative strategy, messaging frameworks, and campaign execution across paid, earned, and owned channels in partnership with internal and external agency partners.
  • Oversee the design and execution of marketing programs that equip independent agents with the tools, resources, and communications needed to grow premium, working closely with sales leadership to align field marketing activity with agency development and retention goals.
  • Partner with the Enterprise Marketing team to drive digital strategy across search, email, social, display, and channel partnerships, leveraging data, analytics, and AI/emerging martech to optimize performance, improve conversion, and advance personalization.
  • Establish and monitor marketing objectives and key results (OKRs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) that reflect alignment to business and enterprise brand goals, using data-driven insights and agile test-and-learn methods to continuously improve marketing effectiveness and return on investment.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability while managing budgets and agency relationships to maximize marketing investments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

  • MBA or advanced degree in a relevant field.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams and manage cross-functional stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to leverage data to drive decisions and measure performance.
  • Experience in P&C insurance, financial services, or a related regulated industry, including familiarity with independent agent distribution models and agency marketing programs.
  • Experience with direct-to-consumer digital marketing, including performance media and aggregator channels.
  • Knowledge of AI-driven marketing tools and emerging martech capabilities.

What is a Must Have?

  • 7 years of industry experience.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing integrated marketing strategies across brand, distribution, and digital channels.
