
Key responsibilities
Strategic Origination & Ecosystem Expansion
Portfolio Growth: Originate and develop innovative partnership initiatives to drive core digital banking objectives, focusing squarely on user acquisition and sustainable revenue growth.
Ecosystem Mapping: Proactively identify and engage with next-generation ecosystem players, fintechs, and digital platforms across the financial services value chain to expand CIMB's digital footprint.
Deal Structuring: Formulate comprehensive commercial proposals, pitch decks, and executive presentations to evaluate and unlock new high-value partnership opportunities.
Product Solutioning & Joint Value Co-Creation
Product Expertise: Maintain a deep, comprehensive understanding of digital banking products—including CASA, Fixed Deposits (FD), Credit Cards, Retail Lending, Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL), and Overdraft (OD) facilities—to identify the right financial levers for different partner ecosystems.
Use-Case Co-Creation: Partner closely with external digital platforms and fintechs to map out, design, and co-create innovative user journeys and commercial use cases that embed CIMB’s banking products seamlessly into the partner’s ecosystem.
Flow Design & Optimization: Architect end-to-end user and data flows, ensuring that the integration of financial products enhances user experience, maximizes conversion rates, and meets both partner and bank objectives.
Project Delivery & Cross-Functional Orchestration
Cross-Functional Lead: Act as the central project business owner, coordinating seamlessly with internal cross-functional teams (Risk, Product, Tech, Legal) to manage, track, and deliver complex integration objectives.
Post-Implementation Review: Lead post-launch project audits to document lessons learned, benchmark performance against business cases, and continuously strengthen deployment frameworks for future initiatives.
Relationship Management & Commercial Optimization
Growth Driving: Lead end-to-end relationship management with both new and existing strategic partners, serving as the primary point of contact to scale the portfolio and maximize joint value.
Roadblock Resolution: Collaborate closely with partners to run continuous health checks, identifying strategic areas for improvement and swiftly clearing operational roadblocks to safeguard project timelines.
Stakeholder Alignment & Governance
Strategic Communication: Actively communicate the partnership vision, project milestones, and commercial progress to internal business units and key stakeholders to foster engagement, awareness, and alignment.
Risk & Compliance Governance: Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate, and resolve operational risks, conduct issues, and regulatory compliance matters across all joint initiatives.
Job Specification
Banking / Finance / Business degree and equivalent functional experience
7+ years of experience in partnership or business development space, Good network within the digital ecosystem, good personality with proper communication & negotiation skills
Excellent partner-facing communication and presentation skills
Must possess an ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines, and work well with others in a fast-paced and agile environment.
Ability to think “future state” and engage with high-growth digital companies through complex commercial deals, all while deepening the partner relationship with key decision makers.
Experience with digital product is a preference. Highly entrepreneurial, willingness to push the envelope and champion the need to embrace digital partners and reinvent processes, products, engagement approach, etc.
