The role


Provide enterprise-level leadership and strategic direction for Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) and Accounts Receivable (AR) operations across business units or client portfolios. The AVP is accountable for driving financial performance, optimizing end-to-end revenue cycle outcomes, and ensuring scalable, compliant, and high-performing operations.
This role partners closely with executive leadership and clients to shape strategy, influence upstream and downstream processes, and deliver sustained improvements in cash flow, AR reduction, and overall revenue integrity.

Your Responsibilities:

Revenue Cycle & AR Operations

  • Lead and oversee AR follow-up operations, including insurance billing, collections, and denial resolution.
  • Establish performance targets and best practices to optimize AR outcomes and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor compliance with billing regulations, payer requirements, and industry standards.
  • Analyze AR performance, trends, and root causes impacting collections and denials; implement corrective actions.
  • Drive improvements that maximize cash flow, reduce AR aging, and limit non-collectible adjustments.
  • Communicate operational risks, opportunities, and performance results to senior leadership.
  • Deliver clear, data-driven reporting on KPIs such as collections, rejections, and days in AR.

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Manage, coach, and develop AR managers and staff to meet productivity and quality standards.
  • Oversee hiring, onboarding, training, performance evaluations, and professional development.
  • Establish and maintain quality assurance and performance management programs.

Strategic Initiatives & Projects

  • Lead and support revenue cycle initiatives, special projects, and escalated operational issues.
  • Identify end-to-end process improvements and implement best-practice solutions.
  • Represent the organization in client-facing initiatives and cross-functional projects.
  • Prepare and present executive-level analyses, reports, and recommendations.

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of managerial experience in revenue cycle operations, with at least 2 years at the director level managing physician business office, CBO, or MSO revenue cycle operations.
  • Extensive knowledge of end-to-end revenue cycle systems and processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proven ability to lead teams in high-volume, performance-driven environments.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and ability to manage sensitive information.
