Job Description

Purpose of the role

To enable the success of the business and assist senior leaders navigate complex challenges, make informed decisions, and achieve their goals

Accountabilities

  • Collaboration with business and senior leadership to develop and implement business strategies that align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaison between different business units and functions, fostering communication and collaboration.
  • Management and coordination of strategic initiatives, projects, and change management efforts to optimize business processes and strengthen the control environment.
  • Improvement of operational efficiency within the organisation including the identification of areas for improvement, streamlining of processes, and implementation of best practices to enhance productivity and effectiveness.
  • Development of performance reporting for key metrics that reinforce the strategic objectives of the division and support the external commitments made. Involvement in aspects of financial analysis and budget management, including assistance in financial planning, forecasting, and monitoring of financial performance against targets.
  • Support to business heads in partnership with HR on hiring, workforce planning, joiner/mover/leaver actions.

  • To advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development and take responsibility for operational effectiveness. Collaborate closely with other functions/ business divisions.

Our teams, based in financial hubs across the globe, can assist clients with anticipating the impact of macro market moves and events on their portfolios. For example, the impact of central bank interest rate decisions on currency markets, or the relationship between the price of oil and the performance of emerging market currencies.

To be a successful “AVP – Macro BM” role We strive to give clients the critical short-term and thematic insights they need to effectively manage their portfolios, and partner with them to structure, buy and sell products to meet their hedging and investment goals. Our trading desks specialise in understanding flows across interest rates and FX in G10 and emerging market currencies, including: government bonds, agency and supra-sovereign bonds, commercial paper, interest rate derivatives (including structured products), inflation-linked products, cross currency derivatives, spot foreign exchange, foreign exchange forwards and options.

You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success role candidate would be supporting the Global Macro Business Management team as part of Macro Business Analytics team, Mumbai. Macro Business Analytics team in Mumbai is responsible for producing business critical MIS reports, Business Strategy presentations, Business Performance reviews, Revenue Forecasting Models, Budgeting Models and performing ad-hoc customized analysis. The candidate would predominantly support the team based out of London & New York and thus the role will require the candidate to primarily work during EMEA hours.

Basic/ Essential Qualifications:

  • Produce and enhance Business Management MI, KPI reporting, and strategic presentations for senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Develop and deliver insightful analysis of business performance, trends, and lead/lag indicators across revenue, sales credit, volumes, costs, market share, margins, RWA, LBS, Coalition, and other key business metrics.
  • Conduct deep-dive analytics to identify performance drivers, commercial opportunities, emerging risks, and areas requiring management focus.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated dashboards and visualization solutions using Tableau, Streamlit, Power BI, Qlik, and other reporting tools to support data-driven decision making.
  • Leverage AI, automation, and analytical tools to streamline reporting processes, improve data quality, and enhance business insights.
  • Partner closely with Business Managers, Front Office, Finance, Risk, Technology, and other stakeholders to provide actionable insights and support strategic initiatives.
  • Deliver ad hoc analysis, management requests, and thematic reviews to support business strategy, resource allocation, and performance optimization.
  • Drive continuous improvement in reporting frameworks, data governance, and analytical capabilities across the business.
  • Translate complex datasets into concise executive-level insights and recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Contribute to strategic projects, business transformation initiatives, and process automation efforts aimed at improving efficiency and business outcomes.

Desirable skillsets/ good to have:

  • Flexibility to work in EMEA hours and adapt to business requirements.
  • Strong understanding of Macro products, financial markets, and the broader Markets business.
  • Proven experience in creating, enhancing, and delivering Business Management Information (MI) and reporting.
  • Hands-on experience with AI tools and platforms such as Microsoft Copilot, GitLab, Claude, and similar technologies.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, automation, and management reporting, with the ability to develop impactful presentations and executive-ready materials using PowerPoint.
  • Experience developing data visualization, analytics, and dashboard solutions using Tableau, Streamlit, Power BI, QlikView, Qlik Sense, or similar BI platforms.
  • Strong programming and automation skills, with hands-on experience in VBA and Python.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders.

This role will be based out of NKP, Mumbai.
