Who we are looking for

An opportunity within the Enterprise Resilience Office supporting the Operational Resilience Programme has become available. The successful candidate will support the implementation/enablement of State Street’s Global Resilience Programme focusing on driving consistent implementation and adoption across the organization, with emphasis on the Asia Pacific region while providing support for corporate-level deliverables and broader enterprise requirements across relevant jurisdictions.

Why this role is important to us

The Enterprise Resilience Office (ERO) is responsible for developing, governing, and advancing State Street’s global resilience strategy. ERO ensures the organization can design, maintain, and continuously mature risk-appropriate continuity and recovery capabilities that safeguard the delivery of critical business services across all market environments.

The ERO - Operational Resilience Enablement AVP will be responsible for participating in all aspects of the framework inclusive of maturing the quality, coherence and impact of our resiliency programme. This role will contribute to the delivery of State Street’s operational resilience objectives by partnering with business, corporate functions, and executive leadership to drive alignment to the firm’s strategic resilience and service continuity priorities

What you will be responsible for

As ERO - Operational Resilience Enablement AVP you will:

  • Evaluate regulatory requirements across Critical Business Services and regional entities, benchmark them against the current approach, and identify gaps; recommend necessary enhancements, actions, and mitigation measures.

  • Partner closely with global programme to maintain alignment and consistency, while accommodating necessary regional variations.

  • Leverage a deep understanding of business unit operations to design, implement, and drive the Enterprise Resiliency programme and supporting standards.

  • Ensure Impact Tolerances are articulated through clear statements aligned to time and volume thresholds for disruption tolerance. Oversee recalibration based on scenario testing outcomes, material events, and dependency changes.

  • Drive implementation of, and support business units in executing, a repeatable, cyclical resilience framework that meets both strategic objectives and regulatory expectations.

  • Drive standardisation, automation, and tooling enablement to reduce reliance on manual processes; establish scalable, repeatable methodologies for impact tolerance assessments and self-assessment development.

  • Facilitate workshops and provide expertise / experience /SME support

  • Lead and contribute to projects, including broader State Street initiatives focused on enhancing operational resilience.

  • Prepare and deliver presentations to boards and develop high-quality materials to support board-level reporting.

  • Foster a strong culture of operational resilience through awareness initiatives and robust governance practices

  • Expertise in Operational Resilience, with strong focus on impact tolerance design and execution ·

  • Strong understanding of financial services operations (payments, custody, trade lifecycle, client servicing) ·

  • Proven ability to assess end to end service delivery and disruption propagation across dependencies ·

  • Proven ability to engage with and influence cross-business functions and legal entities, including in environments without direct reporting lines or authority. · Strategic, structured thinker with the ability to execute tactically, coupled with strong creative problem-solving skills and the capability to influence and drive organisational adoption of innovative solutions. ·

  • Strong analytical intelligence for forward planning ·

  • Strong interpersonal and client management skills with ability to sustain strong relationships with stakeholders and colleagues

Education & Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree ·

An Operational Resilience/risk certification is preferred.

  • Strong documentation skills (Board papers, Documentation for regulatory consumption etc)

  • Flexible and reliable; must operate with openness to continuous improvement and change

  • Proven track record in delivery of large, complex, regionally significant initiatives Proven experience of working in a complex oversight environment

  • Proven ability to influence and shape outcomes with senior level stakeholders
